The future of farming: Hydroponics

Far from being a pipe-dream…

Due to various issues related to our ecosystem, for instance climate change, urbanization and depletion of necessary resources. Now, humans are up against heaps of demanding problems and these are leading towards huge change to our lifestyles globally. Tremendous amount of resources are used by the traditional way of agriculture, with most crop production pushed to their edge leaving them extremely utilized both chemically as well as genetically.

It’s been practiced and believed that increase in usage of fertilizers and pesticides will increase yields but that’s not the case. The only viable solution for meeting the growing demands for food is by expanding the usage of land for food production. If the traditional way of farming is practiced as usual then the agricultural land that we are left with currently will not be sufficient to yield the necessary calorie intake for the generations to come. Practicing traditional way of farming will end up putting the entire ecological system at risk of getting completely destroyed.

These mentioned above and many such are the reasons for which we should find alternative methods to our traditional agricultural system, in order to meet the demands for food of the future generations. Hydroponic farming can work as a solution to many such problems related to our current agricultural methods.
